SILVERBURN Shopping Centre have launched a new tool on their website to help shoppers time their visit perfectly.

The 'crowd checker' launched today and will allow customers to gauge how busy the centre will be at any time.

Available at shopsilverburn.com, the 'crowd checker' will show at the top of the webpage whether the shops are busy and queues are expected, or whether it is quiet enough to walk straight in.

The tool will show either "Now is a great time to visit the centre", "Now is a popular time to visit the centre", where there is extra guidance that your shop many take extra time and short waits to entre stores, and "The centre is really popular right now. Allow extra time.", where there are busy queues for a number of shops and extra time will be expected.

The checker will also show when the centre is closed.

David Pierotti, General Manager at Silverburn, said: “We know that some customers are still a little nervous about visiting their favourite shops, and want to beat the crowds.

"We’re always looking at how we can make life easier and simpler for our customers, and Crowd Checker is a great example of that, as it enables shoppers to check how popular the destination is in live time before they visit, so they can plan their trip.”

The centre recently reopened on July 13 after a nearly four-month hiatus due to lockdown.

During lockdown, essential shops such as M&S and pharmacy Boots remained opened.

Speaking upon re-opening, David said: "We've been working hard behind the scenes for the past few months to get everything ready, and we've introduced a range of measures to keep everyone safe.

"We know that this new way of shopping is going to take some getting used to, but it was brilliant to see Silverburn and Glasgow open for business again."
