A CHILD has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries following a dog attack in Glasgow.
The seven-year-old girl was attacked by the dog near Lunestone Court in Arden on Wednesday afternoon.
The Glasgow Times has been told that the dog, whose breed is unknown, has now been seized and police have launched an investigation.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Police were made aware of an incident involving a dog attacking a seven-year-old girl near Lunestone Court, Glasgow around 4.10pm on Wednesday, July 8.
“The seven-year-old girl was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries The dog has since been seized by officers and enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesman for Glen Oaks Housing Association, which is responsible for homes, said: “We can confirm that a child living in one of our properties in Arden has been injured in a dog attack. We are currently investigating the circumstances of this as a matter of extreme urgency and have been in contact with the family.
“The wellbeing and safety of our tenants is always paramount and we are offering what support we can at this difficult time. We expect to be working closely with the police as we seek to establish exactly what happened.”
