THE East Renfrewshire Foodbank has been given a cash boost to help support the community during the coronavirus.
Freemasons from Barrhead and Neilston, handed over a three-figure sum on Tuesday, June 23 to the East Renfrewshire Foodbank, based in the town’s Main Street.
Stan Esson, of East Renfrewshire Foodbank, welcomed the £385 cash boost.
He said: “Any donation we get is terrific and people have been amazing throughout lockdown.
“The money will be put to good use since the economic downturn due to COVID-19 will inevitably mean increased demand for the services of the foodbank in the coming months.”
Bill Fleming of the Barrhead Lodge added: “We realise how tough things are for many people at present.
“We are glad to do what we can to help by donating to a local foodbank that is doing such a great job.”
