POLICE are appealing for information after a number of cars were set on fire in Barrhead.

In the early hours of Wednesday, June 17, between 1.45am and 2.05am, three cars were deliberately set alight.

These include a blue Dacia Sandero on Harelaw Avenue, a blue Vauxhall Crossland on Patterton Drive and a black Vauxhall Corsa on Balgray Crescent.

Detective Constable Kieron Frost, of Greater Glasgow CID, said: "We believe the incidents to be connected and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard any suspicious activity or persons to get in touch with police as soon as possible. 

“If you were driving in the area and have a dash-cam, I would ask you to please check back and see if there is any footage that may be able to assist our investigation."
