A FUNDRAISING drive has been launched to help pay the funeral costs of a Barrhead dad who has been described as “a true gentleman.”

Donations have poured in after a 31-year-old man, named locally as Shaun Feeley, was found dead at a house in Kerr Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.

By yesterday afternoon, the fundraising total had soared towards £5,000.
Tracy Clark, who set up the JustGiving page, wrote: “We are all trying to come to terms with the passing of Shaun.

“He was the life and soul and will be missed so much by everyone that knew him. I thought I’d set up this page so people could donate towards funeral costs and help Shaun’s family during this difficult time.

“If there’s anything left over, it will go into an account for his precious daughter Freya.”

Those who have made donations at the JustGiving page have described dad-of-one Mr Feeley as someone with “a heart of gold” and “a beautiful smile.”

Police have refused to confirm the name of the man found dead in Kerr Street on Sunday but have said the incident is being treated as “unexplained.”

An investigation was launched after the emergency services were called to the scene at around 5.30am following reports of a sudden death.

A police presence remained in Kerr Street the following day as enquiries continued and it was later confirmed that a 23-year-old woman had been arrested.
