AN urgent appeal for foster carers in East Renfrewshire has been made.
East Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is urging people who live in and around the area to consider fostering, which comes in many forms – from respite, short-term and weekend care to long-term and permanent, the HSCP is keen to hear from people who would be interested in any of these arrangements.
Lockdown has highlighted the need for new carers to support children who must live away from their family homes in these difficult times.
Kate Rocks, chief social work officer for East Renfrewshire, said: “Like the amazing children and young people we support, every foster care placement is unique. Some families are able to provide permanent care, while others commit to weekend respite placements to fit around their careers and their own family circumstances.
“All placements provide stability, support, contribute to the long-term wellbeing of our care-experienced children and are incredibly rewarding.
“Our social workers will support you every step of the way, so if you would like to do something amazing and life changing, get in touch with us.”
