HUNDREDS of homes in Barrhead were left without water today as a result of a burst main.
Scottish Water has carried out emergency repairs in Heys Street after the problem, which affected around 200 properties, was reported this morning.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water told the Barrhead News: “There was a burst on a four-inch water main in Heys Street earlier today.
“This caused a loss of normal water supplies, low water pressure or discoloured water for about 200 properties in the area.
“Scottish Water has now completed a repair to the burst and is restoring normal supplies to affected customers.
“Some properties might get their normal supplies restored before others, depending on their location on our network. If any customers experience discoloured water when it is restored, they should run the cold water tap until it runs clear.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank affected customers for their patience and understanding.”
