A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital following a murder bid in Darnley.

The 35-year-old victim was found lying badly injured in Glen Esk Drive at around 11.25pm on Saturday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, in Glasgow, with severe injuries to his arms and head.

Police say he was attacked by three men and detectives are urging any witnesses to come forward.

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant Nick Gribben said: "We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding this attempted murder and trace whoever is responsible.

"House-to-house enquires are ongoing and we are checking CCTV from in and around the local area to gather more information for our investigation.

"I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this attack take place or anyone who was driving in the area of Glen Esk Drive late on Saturday night who has dash-cam footage, as they may have information that will assist our inquiry."
