A BARRHEAD business is donating luxury soap to care homes across East Renfrewshire in a bid to protect elderly residents from coronavirus.

Alan and Cathy Grant, owners of aromatherapy supply store Aromabar, were keen to show some community spirit amid the Covid-19 crisis.

With this in mind, they have been giving away bars of soap to residents and staff at local care homes.

Cathy told the Barrhead News: “We have a lot of soaps in stock at the moment and we thought to ourselves ‘who would benefit the most from what we have?’

“I then thought about all the people who are in care homes. Why don’t we donate to them, give them all one each and, if we can cover it, we can give them to the staff as well.

“It’s all very doom and gloom at the moment but we hope that they enjoy the soaps, as we want to cheer them up.”

Care homes benefitting from the Robertson Street-based company’s generous donations include The Firs, Parkhouse Manor, Applecross, Norwood, Newton House and Millview.
