MEMBERS of Renfrewshire Council’s emergencies board have nominated substitutes to attend meetings in their place if they are unavailable.
The board is currently overseeing the activities of the council following the cancellation of all other board meetings until at least Wednesday, June 24.
Members of the board, which will meet every Friday for the foreseeable future, approved pulling the plug on all meetings last week in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
They will be able to make decisions on all major policy matters but some other decisions will be delegated to officers.
The membership consists of convener Marie McGurk, depute convener Michelle Campbell, council leader Iain Nicolson, Labour group chief Eddie Devine and Conservative representative Alistair Mackay.
It is proposed the substitutes for Councillor McGurk, Councillor Campbell and Councillor Nicolson will be education boss Jim Paterson and finance chief John Shaw, in that order of priority.
Councillor Devine is set to be substituted by Linwood, Houston and Crosslee representative Jim Sheridan or Paisley Northwest member Karen Kennedy.
Tory colleagues John McIntyre and Neill Graham will step up in place of Councillor Mackay if required.
The proposals are set for approval at the next meeting of the board on Friday, March 27, when the council's chief executive Sandra Black will deliver the latest update on Covid-19.
Members of the board will be able to access meetings remotely should they need to.
A final decision on whether the full council meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 25, should go ahead will be made at a later date.
