A PRISONER who has escaped from HMP Addiewell prison in Livingston is believed to have links to the Greater Glasgow area.
33-year-old Steven Ross escaped from the premises at around 5.20pm on Wednesday, March 11, whilst on escort from the prison to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Police are now appealing for information and significant enquiries are being undertaken in an attempt to trace the prisoner.
He is described as white, 5ft 9in, of slim build, with dark brown hair and a distinctive tramline.
He was last seen wearing dark coloured shorts, a dark coloured jumper and Nike trainers with a distinctive lime green sole. He is also believed to have a blue 3/4 length jacket in his possession.
Police are advising members of the public not to approach Mr Ross if they see him but to contact police immediately.
Anyone who has seen him since 5.20pm on Wednesday or anyone who knows of his present whereabouts should contact police via 101, or in an emergency on 999. Please quote incident number 2686 of 11 March 2020.
