POLICE have pledged to clamp down on anti-social behaviour in Neilston following a number of serious incidents over the past few months.
The pledge came after Neilston Community Council heard a report of common assault, in which a 20-year-old man was punched in Main Street at around 7.30pm on Friday, January 31, and sustained minor injuries to his face.
A 44-year-old woman was also arrested on Main Street on the evening of Monday, February 10, for vandalism and allegedly conducting herself in a threatening and abusive manner.
Officers are continuing to investigate another incident of vandalism that occurred during the early hours of the Sunday, February 13, during which a car and other property was damaged.
A statement given by Police Scotland to Neilston Community Council said: “We share information relating to anti-social behaviour with our partners at East Renfrewshire Council to ensure that our joint resources can effectively focus on locations of concerns.”
