EAST Renfrewshire MP Kirsten Oswald has visited Barrhead Men’s Shed to check out their efforts.

Based in Robertson Street Industrial Estate, the group continues to go from strength to strength and the MP said she welcomed the chance to see how they make a difference.

She added: “I was really pleased to have the opportunity to see the work of the Barrhead Men’s Shed, which I had heard so much about. It was good to meet some of the people, both men and women, whose lives have been transformed by their involvement with this group.

“The range of activities on offer was particularly impressive, from woodwork to music and computer training to model rail. What was just as important was the work they were doing with young people, including making planters for railway stations and play equipment for nurseries.

“The group’s plans for expansion are really impressive and I will be happy to support them as they work to realise their ambitions.”
