A RENFREWSHIRE shopping mall and leisure destination has teamed up with the Glasgow Warriors rugby team.

The new partnership means sports fans and regular visitors to intu Braehead, in Renfrew, can take advantage of Glasgow-Warriors-related augmented reality experiences, promotions and special offers, along with the opportunity to meet the stars of the Warriors team.

Warriors will get access to the 17 million visitors that come to intu Braehead every year to promote the club and the sport of rugby. And intu Braehead will be able to reach out to the ever-increasing audience of rugby and sports fans. The partnership will run until the end of the 2021 season.

Warriors’ star Nick Grigg visited Soar at intu Braehead to see for himself the various leisure attractions there.

Marketing manager for intu Braehead, David Lyon, said: “With our shared values of entertainment, community engagement, innovation and excellence, this is an ideal match between our two organisations.

“Glasgow Warriors is the most successful rugby club in Scotland and intu Braehead has been given the accolade of being Scotland’s number one retail and leisure destination.

“Warriors players already come to intu Braehead and Soar with family and friends to take advantage of our wide range of stores and to have fun at the fantastic leisure experiences we have.

“The new partnership merely cements our relationship between intu Braehead and Glasgow Warriors.”

Nathan Bombrys, managing director of Glasgow Warriors, added: “We're really excited intu Braehead have decided to partner with Glasgow Warriors. They are Scotland's leading retail and leisure destinations and pride themselves on delivering great experiences for the entire family, just like we do.

"We are looking forward to working with intu Braehead and look forward to experiencing the leisure opportunities on offer with our fellow Warriors supporters."
