FREE tickets to the Wimbledon tennis tournament and payment for a newspaper column are among the financial interests declared by Renfrewshire’s MPs.

Mhairi Black and Gavin Newlands revealed their expenses and non-parliamentary incomes in a report published earlier this month.

Paisley and Renfrewshire North representative Mr Newlands did not earn any money outwith his salary but the SNP’s former shadow spokesperson for sport was given free tickets by London City Airport to attend Scotland’s rugby showdown with England at Twickenham in March.

He was later given free passes into the All England Club by Tennis Scotland.

These two gifts were worth a combined total of £1,500.

Paisley and Renfrewshire South colleague Ms Black did not receive any free gifts during the course of the last year but declared an income of £150 that she is paid twice a month to write a column for The National.

Her fee for the column is donated to charity.
