BOSSES at a hospitality group have raised their glasses to a Renfrewshire bartender by presenting her with an award.

Laura Michie, who works at The Coach House, in Bridge of Weir, has been crowned Team Member of the Year by her employers, Buzzworks Holdings.

She was presented with the prize at the Buzzworks Ball – a 1920s-themed evening that brought together more than 300 staff who work at venues operated by the company.

Alison Blair, director of Buzzworks Holdings, told The Gazette: “We are extremely proud of our people and their hard work and commitment to both Buzzworks and our customers all year round.

“They deserve more than a simple, traditional staff night out after a busy festive period. That’s why we aim to go the extra mile and put months of preparations into creating an extravagant night that everyone can enjoy.

“This year’s ball was our biggest and best to date.

“It’s important for us to reward our venue teams and recognise their achievements. Our annual Buzzworks Ball is for them.

“Laura took home Team Member of the Year for The Coach House as a reward for her consistent hard work and kindness.

“Our congratulations go to Laura.”

This year’s ball took place at Troon Town Hall and was hosted by radio presenter Billy Kirkwood, with entertainment from a nine-piece swing band, tap dancers and a fireworks display.
