POLICE are appealing for information after a "high-value theft" saw money and jewellery being stolen from a house on the outskirts of Barrhead.
At least £10,000 in cash, as well as Asian jewels worth a four-figure sum, were swiped during the raid on Thursday, February 6.
Sometime between 4.45pm and 6pm, a gang of three crooks broke into a house in Whitacres Road, within the Parkhouse Estate, and grabbed the loot before being disturbed and running off towards Parkhouse Road.
The men had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing. Two of them were seen carrying bags.
Constable Fraser Gunn said: "The suspects for this break-in may have been in the area prior to the occupants leaving their house.
"Once the occupants have been out of sight, the suspects have broken into the house and taken the money and the jewellery, which is described as Asian in quality, of 18-carat and 24-carat gold, consisting of necklaces, bangles and ear-rings.
"The occupants have returned home just before 6pm and observed lights on within the house and a man within the living room. Shortly after, all three men have exited the house.
"The suspects ran past them whilst they were in their car.
"No other items were taken apart from the money and jewellery, so we believe this house was targeted specifically.
"From CCTV, we can see there is a lot of traffic on Parkhouse Road around the time of the break-in and we would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen these men running to come forward.
"We are also keen to get dash-cam footage from vehicles that were in the area."
Anyone with information is asked to call the Community Investigation Unit (Housebreakings) via 101, quoting reference number 2,892 of February 6.
Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
