THERE have been a series of vandalisms of vehicles and properties in Barrhead in the past month, report police.

Overnight on January 8 into 9, a van tyre was deliberately punctured in Langton Crescent, along with two tyres of a car.

Then sometime between January 20 and 24, another two tyres were punctured on a car in Newton Avenue.

Officers carried out door-to-door enquiries and spoke to neighbours, but there was no CCTV of the attacks.

There have also been a number of reports of windows being smashed by "stone throwing" and cars being vandalised in the latter part of January.

Police said these incidents happened in Divernia Way, Oakbank Drive, Aursbridge Drive, Aurs Crescent, Burnbank Drive and Stewart Street.

At Barrhead Community Council this month, Sergeant Jim Boyle said they go out and try to prevent such crimes and will continue to work with wardens and checking CCTV.

Anyone with information on any of the crimes is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers.
