EAST Renfrewshire residents are being invited to get their hearing checked at a pop-up event next week.

Experts from Hearing Loss Scotland will welcome visitors to The Market Place, in Kelburn Street, on Wednesday, February 12, from 10am to 4pm.

Visitors will be shown the range of services available to support people who have hearing loss.

Teri Devine, director of Action on Hearing Loss Scotland, said: “We’re setting up our pop-up shop to give people in Barrhead, especially those who are older and more likely to have age-related hearing loss, the chance to get their hearing checked and find out about the huge benefits of getting hearing aids fitted as soon as hearing loss has been diagnosed.

“Representatives from our services will be available to highlight how we inform and support local residents who have hearing loss, whether it’s cleaning or re-tubing NHS hearing aids, demonstrating assistive technology which can make everyday life easier, assisting older veterans as part of our Unforgotten Forces partnership activities or helping individuals with their social security applications.”
