POLICE have confirmed a man hit by a train on Sunday morning died at the scene.
Paramedics and officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were called to Muirend station on the Glasgow-to-Neilston line around 9.15am on January 26.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and police later said they were not treating it as suspicious.
His family have been informed.
The line was closed for about three hours before service resumed.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: βAt 9.15 am on Sunday, January 26, officers were called to Muirend station following a report of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however, a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene β his family have been informed.
"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report will be made to the procurator fiscal.β
