A WORTHY cause that helps people facing financial crisis has been given a cash boost.
Renfrewshire Foodbank has received £19,120 from the Bank of Scotland Foundation, which provides stability to small and medium-sized charities addressing disadvantage or social exclusion.
Awards are made for capital or project costs to ensure good causes can provide continued, reliable support.
A total of 62 charities across Scotland have shared grants worth almost £1.9million in the latest round of funding.
Philip Grant, chair of the foundation’s board of trustees, said: “We know that core funding is hugely important for charities, providing stability and reducing uncertainty.”
Renfrewshire Foodbank has distribution centres in Johnstone, Paisley, Erskine and Renfrew.
The main drop-off centre is in Abercorn Street, Paisley. For more details, visit here.
