A PENSIONER has been left devastated after thieves raided her home and stole £30,000 worth of jewellery.
The crooks gained entry to the 72-year-old woman’s house in Vennachar Road, Renfrew, via a rear window sometime between noon and 5pm on Sunday.
It is understood several items of jewellery, as well as a laptop and the OAP’s passport, were taken during the break-in.
Inspector Jim Cast, who is based at Renfrew Police Office, said: “This was a very distressing incident for the victim, who returned home to find her house had been ransacked.
“Tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery, along with other personal items, were stolen.”
Anyone who has information about the break-in is asked to call officers on 101.
