MHAIRI Black believes voters across Paisley and Renfrewshire South are fed up with the “UK establishment.”

The SNP candidate, who is hoping to retain her seat, claims a vote for her party tomorrow will help to hold the UK Government to account.

Ms Black says she has dealt with more than 13,000 cases since her initial election in 2015, many of them as a result of her constituents feeling “let down by the system.”

She told The Gazette: “It has been heartening to speak with so many people who are fed up with the UK establishment and want a better future than the one currently being offered by the UK political parties.

“A vote for the SNP is a vote to hold the UK Government to account, whether it is Labour, Tory or Lib-Dem.

“For the last three years, the Scottish Government and SNP MPs have been ignored in the Brexit negotiations.”

Paisley and Renfrewshire South voted 65.2 per cent to remain during the historic European Union referendum and Ms Black believes the voice of the area has been ignored since.

She said: “Paisley and Renfrewshire South did not vote to leave the European Union. It’s time to let Westminster hear our voice and the only way to do this is by voting SNP.

“People contact me every day because the system has let them down.

“Over the last four years I have used this position to help those who need it the most in Paisley, Johnstone and the villages.

“It is my hope to be able to continue on with this work come Friday.”
