THE General Election is now just a week away – and people in Helensburgh and Lomond will get a chance to quiz the four Argyll and Bute candidates at a hustings event in a few days’ time.

The Advertiser has teamed up with the Tower Digital Arts Centre to host the Question Time-style event at the Sinclair Street venue this Monday, December 9.

All four Argyll and Bute candidates – Alan Reid for the Liberal Democrats, Brendan O’Hara of the SNP, the Conservatives’ Gary Mulvaney and Labour’s Rhea Barnes – have accepted our invitation to attend the event.

It will be chaired by Kilcreggan resident and former Advertiser editor Julian Calvert, now a journalism lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University and owner of the Lochside Press website.

Monday’s event will run from 7pm until 9pm, and entry is completely free.

There is also no need to submit questions in advance – just get your thinking caps on, come along with your questions ready, and listen to what the four candidates have to say.
