YOUNG bookworms enjoyed an afternoon of reading fun in Barrhead.
The tots were treated to a party as The Foundry played host to the Big Bletherin’ Book Bash on Saturday morning.
As part of Book Week Scotland, the children enjoyed games, crafts and stories galore as they celebrated their favourite tales by dressing up as much-loved characters.
Book Week Scotland is an annual celebration of books and reading that takes place across the country.
During the initiative, people of all ages and walks of life come together in libraries, schools, community venues and workplaces to share and enjoy books and reading.
They are joined in this celebration by Scotland’s authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers and illustrators to bring a packed programme of events and projects to life.
Pupils in primary one, two and three classes at East Renfrewshire schools were also gifted a fun activity bag that included picture books, educational toys, counting games and other learning resources.
