Officers have closed off two supermarkets in East Renfrewshire following reports they were targeted in overnight ram-raiding incidents.
Images from the scene show police tape surrounding the Scotmid on Mearns Road, in Clarkston, after the attack, which left the front doors smashed in and parts of the interior destroyed.
Staff have been sent home for the day as detectives investigate the incident.
A branch of Londis on the same street was also attacked in the early hours of Friday morning.
A Scotmid spokesperson said: “Following the incident that happened at our Clarkston store in the early hours of this morning, we would like to thank our members and customers in the local area for their patience and understanding while we now carry out the necessary repair work."
He added: "Our aim is to reopen the store and return to business as usual as quickly as possible.”
