CANDIDATES hoping to stand for election to Barrhead Community Council need to get their applications in this week. 

The deadline nomination period closes on Wednesday, October 23, at 4.45pm and applications are currently still open.  

Barrhead Community Council is a special type of community group who are consulted on important local issues, such as planning and licensing.

The group provides a direct link between the local community and the council, NHS, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and other public bodies.

Nomination forms are also available from the Council Headquarters, Eastwood Park, Barrhead Library or by contacting Vincent McCulloch, Community Council Liaison Officer, on 0141 577 4645 or by emailing vincent.mcculloch@eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk.

Anyone wishing to stand for election must be a resident in the Barrhead area, aged 16 years or over and named on the electoral register.
