School and college leavers in Clydebank are being urged to consider a career in sound – as there are often more acoustics jobs available than there are graduates to fill them.
National trade body, the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC), claims a new generation of students are needed to help address the issue.
ANC says managing noise is an “important, but often under-considered option, for the future well-being of society.”

Dan Saunders, ANC chair, said: “Acoustics is a dynamic, diverse and rewarding career but few people have even heard of it.
“Roles are wide-ranging and include product design, cinema sound, and even sonar and ultrasound.”
