THE city's music scene is in mourning following the death of a young Glaswegian guitarist.

Shaun Scott of The Ronains died on Monday, the band announced.

In a Facebook post, the Clydebank-based group said their world had come crashing down. It is not known how old Shaun was.

The band also provided no further details about the death and explained that it came ahead of them kicking off a tour on Saturday.

A statement said: "On Monday, our world came crashing down around us and our hearts were utterly shattered by the devasting news of our best friend.

"Our beautiful best friend has sadly passed away. Shaun was our boy, our little brother, we did absolutely everything together and this soul-destroying news has broken us.

"This week was set to be the highlight of our time together so far, we had worked so hard & we couldn't wait to hit the road on Saturday and then celebrate afterward, yet here we are, crushed to pieces.

"There are no words to describe what Shaun meant to his loving family and to us, our time together was packed with love and laughter, music and sheer magical moments.

"Shauny was such a sweetheart and was loved by everyone who met him, he hated drama and never had a bad word to say about anyone.

"We have been inundated with messages but are too broken to reply.

"Our hearts are with his family at this time.

"Rest in peace our beautiful boy and thank you for coming into our lives, we will never ever forget you."
