A TEENAGER has been arrested after a police officer was assaulted in Barrhead.
It’s understood officers were attending an incident in Connor Road at around 8.45pm on Saturday when one of them was punched in the stomach.
An 18-year-old suspect was detained and has also been charged with resisting arrest.
Sergeant Jim Boyle, of Barrhead Police Office, said: “A female offender was arrested for a police assault in which she punched the officer to the stomach. She was also charged with resisting arrest.
“The police officer was not seriously injured and a report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.”
