POLICE are appealing for information after a child’s bike went missing from a Barrhead petrol station.

A nine-year-old boy left his bike outside the filling station, in Glasgow Road, at around 9.15pm on Saturday and it was no longer there when he returned a short time later.

A police spokesman said: “It seems that the boy left his bicycle on a footpath at the filling station while he went inside and, when he came back out, it had been stolen.

“It is a dark-green BMX-type and, if anyone has any information regarding where it is, they should contact Barrhead Police Office on 101.”
