Glove-ly boost for Barrhead sports club
MEMBERS of a Barrhead sports club are punching the air with joy after landing a windfall.
A grant of £5,000 has been handed to Barrhead Amateur Boxing Club in the latest round of payouts from the National Lottery Award for All Scotland scheme.
The cash will be used to help the group buy boxing equipment for their move from council-run premises to their own Barrhead base.
Under the Awards for All Scotland scheme, National Lottery cash is made available to voluntary and community groups across the country.
Grants ranging from £300 to £10,000 are up for grabs.
