HAVING fun was child’s play for these happy kids as they took part in a special event which used hit film Despicable Me as its inspiration.

Dozens of youngsters went along to the ‘Despicable Mess’ session, where they were able to enjoy different types of play and make new friends.

Fun-loving little Minions were encouraged to get their hands on jelly, shaving foam and other gooey play materials and make as much mess as possible.

The event, which took place at the Maccabi Youth Centre, in Giffnock, was aimed at kids aged from six months to five years, with mums and dads also able to bring along older brothers and sisters up to the age of 10.

Pauline McCririck, event organiser, told the Barrhead News: “Every event we stage is such a fun time – and the best thing is that everyone gets to make mess without worrying about having to clean it up afterwards.

“Our sensory play involves bubble bath, jelly, shaving foam and other items you can find around your house.

“It’s all ‘baby safe,’ which means no-one ever has to worry. It’s all a little chaotic but that’s what makes it so much fun. It’s our own organised chaos.

“Our next event is on Saturday, June 29, when the theme will be ‘Life’s a beach.’
