CLEVER clogs at Neilston Primary School have been given a taste of life in the working world.
Pupils across the school spent the last year taking part in a pilot skills academy programme which saw the youngsters dipping their toe into six different areas.
Thanks to help from local experts, the kids were able to learn about design and manufacturing, food and nutrition, healthy, happy minds, their local community and creativity and culture.
This included the help of local artist Bryan McEleney, known as The Dandy Tiger, and technical teacher of 30 years Allan Whiteford.
Andrew Howie, the school’s principal teacher, said: “It is so motivational for them.
“They are getting the chance to develop their learning for life.
“These are also areas that the teachers are passionate about, so that transfers to the pupils.
“We hope to run the programme again next year, so we ask anyone interested in helping to get in touch.”
