IT'S time to look out the shorts, t-shirts, and sun cream as East Renfrewshire gets set to bask in a heatwave, writes Gregg Kelly.
Forget the chilly winter winds, and look forward to the breezy balmy sunshine next week. Summer is back.
The Met Office has predicted that from Monday onwards the temperature is going to shoot upwards in Barrhead, Neilston, and the whole of East Renfrewshire.
From near 18C at the beginning of next week. The temperature is expected to climb, with a strong possibility of touching 23C on Thursday.
Friday's weather is expected to settle on 20C, making it perfect weekend barbecue weather.
The weather is expected to drop below 8C during the evening, however it still makes for a breezy warm week.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Temperatures on the whole are likely to be warmer than normal, with the chance of locally very warm conditions in the west and southwestern parts."
