A JOHNSTONE school was praised by education inspectors a decade ago.
Cochrane Castle Primary was commended for its partnership with St David’s Primary, with whom it shared West Johnstone Campus.
HMI inspectors visited the school and identified two examples of good practice to be shared with other schools.
The partnership with St David’s Primary and West Johnstone Learning Centre, which also shared the campus, was highlighted as providing children with opportunities to work with others in order to understand their local and wider community.
Headteacher Kate Clark said at the time: “I am delighted that the great teamwork at Cochrane Castle Primary School and our positive partnerships with parents and establishments in West Johnstone Campus has been recognised.
“It is pleasing that the work of our well behaved, motivated young citizens and highly committed staff has been commended by the HMI team.”
The school’s partnership with pupils’ parents was also praised and the report outlined a number of key strengths, including highly-motivated, well-behaved children who were eager to learn, the welcoming ethos, very good relationships and the outstanding commitment of staff to the care and welfare of children.
Renfrewshire Council’s director of education said the praise was well deserved.
