A BARRHEAD dad has launched an urgent appeal to get his daughter home after she fell ill in Thailand.

Rebekah Fulton, 25, is currently in a hospital in Phuket where she is battling against a serious infection, and her dad, James Geddes, has described her as ‘very ill’.

At his daughter’s side, he set up a Go Fund Me page with the hope of reaching £25,000 to fly Rebekah home.

Writing on the fundraising page, James said: “Rebekah is in hospital in Phuket with a serious infection and is very ill.

“I am trying to raise enough funds to get her home as soon as possible as she is way too poorly to fly.

“I am in Phuket with her and I understand that she is well known all over the world through her travels throughout Asia and I am respectfully appealing to everyone to give a little to bring my girl home.”

Since setting up his appeal less than 24 hours ago, over £3,000 has been raised with support pouring in from across the country.

James added: “I just want to thank everyone who has helped so far, and I have tried to thank you all individually so sorry if I missed anyone.

“As this appeal gathers pace it is becoming apparent how much Rebekah means to a huge amount of people so thanks again for the support.

“I will update everyone on how she is when I can.”
