SUPERMARKET workers have taken a ‘pink pledge’ to help raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis of breast cancer.
They are supporting Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign in response to statistics which show half of women don’t check their breasts regularly.
Emma Gittoes, Asda’s community manager, said: “Sadly, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and, with one in two women not checking regularly, there has never been a better time to raise awareness of this important message.”
As part of recent Tickled Pink activity, Asda staff have been putting ‘surprise’ stickers on a variety of products instore, from melons to bread baps, to encourage shoppers to check their breasts.
