FUN for all the family was on offer as a community group celebrated its achievements.
Green Guardians, based at Woodfarm Education Centre, in Giffnock, organised a host of activities on Saturday, including face painting, pot planting, henna tattoos and jewellery making.
In December last year, the group was presented with a prestigious Climate Challenge Fund Award, in the travel category, for its work to encourage people to cycle more and drive less.
Fatima Iftikhar, project manager at Green Guardians, said: “The Climate Challenge Fund Awards were organised by Keep Scotland Beautiful and the aim is to recognise the work that has been undertaken by groups supported by the Climate Challenge Fund to tackle climate change in their communities.
“We won the travel category award in recognition of the community’s participation in our project.
“We wanted to thank our community for making it possible for us and wanted to celebrate with them.
“The event we held on Saturday was showcasing some of our activities from the previous year’s project and introduced our project for the coming year.
“There were activities for all the family, from face painting and a jumble sale to seed planting and henna hand painting.”
