The incident occurred in the town's quiet Sandy Road
A MAN is due to appear in court after allegedly robbing a pensioner of her handbag in broad daylight yesterday.
Officers say the 76-year-old was left shaken following the incident in Sandy Road, in Renfrew, at around 12.40pm on Sunday.
The pensioner was allegedly pushed to the ground by a 54-year-old man who then is said to have made off with her handbag.
However, police and members of the public were able to track down the suspect and return the bag to the owner.
The 54-year-old is due to appear in Paisley Sheriff Court today.
