RESIDENTS will be faced with disruption following the closure of a major road.
On Sunday, February 17, Aurs Road, between the junctions of Stewarton Road, Newton Mearns and Springfield Road, Barrhead, will be shut off from 8am to 5pm to facilitate a survey ahead of Glasgow City Region City Deal funded plans to improve the road later this year.
Future works will include two sections of realignment, creation of a new roundabout, replacement of a weak road bridge and the addition of walking and cycling pathways.
An East Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: “A diversion route will be in place via Stewarton Road, Nitshill Road, Darnley Road and vice versa.
“Pedestrian access will be unaffected.”
