A NEILSTON man is facing trial accused of being unfit to drive through the streets of Barrhead because he was under the influence of drink or drugs.
Anthony Dailly, of Craig Road, is said to have committed the offence in Barrhead’s Main Street on June 13 last year.
He is charged with breaking Section 4(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and is also alleged to have been in possession of cannabis, a class-B drug, in the same street on the same day, in breach of Section 5(2) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
The case against 43-year-old Dailly called for the first time at Paisley Sheriff Court last week.
Dailly was not present at the hearing but a letter pleading not guilty was entered on his behalf.
A trial has been set for April, with a pre-trial hearing scheduled for March, and Dailly is ordained to appear at both hearings.
