POLICE in Barrhead are on the hunt for the people behind a spate of car vandalism.
A series of incidents in recent weeks have seen eight cars damaged in the town - and there are concerns the problem is likely to continue.
The catalogue of mindless vandalism was highlighted at the most recent meeting of Barrhead Community Council.
Presenting the monthly crime update to members, PC Eric Work told members: “Vandalism to motor cars, most frequently at weekends, is noted as an ongoing issue, with eight vehicles recorded as being vandalised between the 16th November and the 1st December at various locations in the Barrhead area.
“No persons have been identified for these crimes at this time.”
Car owners are advised to be on their guard.
During the same report, community councillors heard two homes were broken into in the
Barrhead area in November and two reports were received of vehicles being stolen.
Enquires are ongoing into all these crimes.
Anyone who has information is asked to call officers on 101.
