The future is looking rosy for two young men who have secured employment with a social enterprise.

Young Enterprise Scotland’s YES Works – an award-winning enterprise which provides gardening services for local authorities, housing associations, businesses and private homes – has recruited Cameron Laidlaw and Cameron Smith.

In the posts, funded by Community Job Scotland, the new recruits will assist the YES Works team in delivering gardening work across the local area.

Cameron Laidlaw, 21, from Barrhead, progressed through a pathways programme before gaining a permanent position at YES Works’ headquarters at Rouken Glen.

And 18-year-old Cameron Smith, from Erskine, was offered a job when his six-month YES secondment at Linstone Housing Association came to an end.

Colin Higgins, YES Works manager, said: “We are very pleased to welcome both Camerons to our small but very successful team.

“These appointments demonstrate the effectiveness of our training and secondment initiatives, as both recruits have secured jobs after spending time with our team.

“They’re both very dedicated young lads and I am sure they will be a fantastic addition to the team. We all wish them the best of luck in their new roles.”
