A PET charity volunteer is urging Glasgow schools to help stamp out animal abuse.

Martha Brindley, from Lugton in East Ayrshire, has volunteered with Blue Cross for eight years.

The charity provides free talks to young people about pet welfare, staying safe around dogs and responsible pet ownership from an early age to encourage behaviour change across a generation.

Martha has had three Blue Cross education dogs. Her current pup, eight-year-old whippet Ghillie, loves visiting schools and meeting children.

Martha said: “To date we have reached over 10,000 children promoting safety and respecting animals.”
