A UK Government minister travelled from Westminster to East Renfrewshire to congratulate a flooring company on their innovative use of technology.

Economic Secretary to the Treasury, John Glen MP, visited the First Floors in Giffnock as part of his trip to Scotland to experience how financial technology is improving life for small and medium-sized businesses.

Mr Glen said: “Financial technology and online banking have revolutionised the way our country manages its money. I came to Scotland to see how our businesses are embracing this change.

“Not only did I get the chance to see how First Floors had embraced the revolution, they also had the carpet the Queen and Duchess of Cambridge walked on when they came to visit Scotland, so an amusing visit all round.”
