A COMMUNITY camera club in Barrhead has held its annual exhibition and is now hoping to attract new members to its ranks.

Levern Camera Club, which meets every week at Fereneze Golf Club, displayed works by its members throughout August at the Barrhead Foundry.

The photographs showed a range of skillsets within the club, with everything from scenic landscape shots to intimate wildlife pictures making up the exhibit.

Volunteers Angela Dunwoodie, Jim Clark, Hazel McKim and Jim Pyke manned the stall throughout.

The club was also grateful to Alison Reilly and Margaret Lockyer of Barrhead Artists’ Club for helping set out the display, and also Barrhead Men’s Shed for designing and creating the photo pedestal.

Club secretary Jim Clark said: “Following on from the great success we had at our display last year we are hopeful our display has again helped to bring our club to the attention of the local community.

“To those who may be interested in learning more about digital photography, they are very welcome to come join us any time.”

Levern Camera Club returns from its summer break this evening with weekly sessions beginning again at Fereneze Golf Club.

The sessions start at 7.30pm and anyone looking to join is encouraged to attend.
