A COMMUNITY fun day in Barrhead has been cancelled by organisers over fears about road disruption in the area.
The DIY Dunterlie event, which was due to take place on Friday morning, was called off as road resurfacing works are currently taking place on Stewart Street.
The day, organised by Barrhead Housing Association as part of a new project, has now been rescheduled and will take place on Saturday, September 8.
Access for vehicles to Stewart Street has been restricted since Monday and will continue until next weekend.
East Renfrewshire Council published their intention to carry out the works on July 19.
The new event later this year will feature face painting sessions, circus training, den building and more.
A free bike service will also be available alongside street food stalls and financial advice for residents.
