THERE was fun to be had by all as Neilston Parish Church hosted its annual summer fete.
Another scorching Saturday saw temperatures soar as people of all ages headed to the church to enjoy a variety of games, stalls and activities.
Proving particularly popular was the home baking stall, which offered up a variety of cakes and sweet treats.
And bookworms could browse a selection of novels from all genres at
a stall bursting with good reads.
An array of beautiful garden goodies and flowers could also be bought from the plant stall.
For both children and adults, there were a selection of prizes up for grabs in a tombola and lucky dip, which the little ones were keen to get stuck into.
The event’s success was reflected in the amount raised, with the church cashing in on more than £800, which will go towards church funds.
Accord Hospice was also raising its own funds on the day, with a dedicated stall set up to gather cash for the Paisley facility.
Church treasurer Mary Hassan thought the event went well and was
pleased with the amount raised.
She said: “It wasn’t as busy as it has was last year, but I think there were a lot of other events on at the same time.
“I was really surprised when I found out how much we had raised. It’s
a great amount.”
