FEMALE empowerment and workers’ rights will be on the agenda at Eastwood Park Theatre as hit musical Made in Dagenham is staged.

Members of the Eastwood Entertainers will present the show, which is based on a true story and described by producers as “hilarious, moving and poignant.”

The amateur dramatic group is in rehearsals for the production, having been part of the family at Eastwood Park Theatre for over 40 years.

Depicted in the 2010 film of the same, the story of the 1968 Ford sewing machinists’ strike first moved to the stage in London four years ago.

This latest performance is particularly relevant as 2018 marks 100 years since some women were first given the right to vote.

You can see Made in Dagenham at Eastwood Park Theatre from Tuesday, April 10, until Saturday, April 14.

Show times are at 7.30pm each evening, with a Saturday matinee taking place at 2.30pm.

Tickets are priced between £14 and £16 and can be purchased online at www.eastwoodparktheatre.co.uk/article/9219/Made-In-Dagenham.
